The Nescafe story:
In the 1930's, due to an abundance of coffee crops in Brazil, the Brazilian government asked the Nestlé company to develop an instant coffee which would be easy and convenient to prepare. It took Max Morgenthaler of Nestlé eight years to develop the first instant coffee, which was subsequently named Nescafé – a combination of Nestlé and coffee.
